THE MAKING WAVES ART FESTIVAL, IN COLLABORATION WITH THE FOLKESTONE PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE, IS FACILITATING SCHOOLS-BASED ART WORKSHOPS THAT ADDRESSES PLASTIC USE IN SCHOOLS WITH THE AIM OF CREATING [OR RESTARTING / SUPPORTING] A SCHOOL ECO-COUNCIL.  AS PART OF THIS WORKSHOP, THERE WILL ALSO BE AN OPPORTUNITY TO SHOWCASE THE STUDENTS’ WORK AT THE MAKING WAVES ART FESTIVAL ON FRIDAY 12 NOVEMBER & SATURDAY 13 NOVEMBER 2021 AT THE BREWERY TAP ART GALLERY ON TONTINE STREET IN FOLKESTONE.

WE CAN PROVIDE BESPOKE WORKSHOPS TO A RANGE OF YEAR GROUPS OR ASSEMBLIES AND CAN BE VERY FLEXIBLE AROUND OUR DELIVERY. IN OUR WORKSHOPS, WE CAN CO-CREATE WITH THE STUDENTS A PERFORMANCE OR ARTWORK SUCH AS COSTUMES, PROPS, PUPPETS OR DISPLAYS WITH [CLEAN] PLASTIC WASTE AND CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE STUDENTS TO EXPRESS THEIR CREATIVITY WHILE GIVING THEM A PLATFORM TO DISCUSS AND THINK ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT. AS THE FESTIVAL IS ROOTED IN THE COMMUNITY, IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE SCHOOLS INVOLVED NOT ONLY TO FURTHER THEIR INTEREST IN THE ENVIRONMENT BUT TO FURTHER THEIR CONFIDENCE AND EDUCATION.
